Bitcoin Tests Key Resistance as Altcoins Join the Rally
Can Bitcoin Break Resistance and Keep the Altcoin Rally Going?
Bitcoin is pushing higher again, and that move is pulling much of the crypto market with it as activity also picks up in bonds and precious metals. The bigger question now is whether Bitcoin can break through resistance strongly enough to turn this into a broader altcoin rally, or whether these resistance levels slow the move down first.
Bitcoin (BTC) is the market I would keep at the center of everything right now. On the four-hour chart, Bitcoin has pushed back toward the highs from August 24 and August 27, but it still has not confirmed a higher high. That makes this an area where I would expect some short-term resistance and possibly a pullback, although not necessarily a major rejection.
The more important resistance comes from the November wick low, which is moving into alignment with the May high. Bitcoin has been testing this general area repeatedly. The more often resistance gets tested, the greater the possibility that buyers eventually push through it. The rough probabilities discussed were about 50% after three attempts, around 55% after four, and closer to 60% after five, although those numbers were specifically described as non-scientific. The point is simply that repeated pressure matters.
Bitcoin has already gained thousands of dollars in a relatively short period on the one-hour chart, and that strength has helped lift most of the crypto market. So I would not chase this move. I would rather see Bitcoin confirm the breakout before assuming the next leg higher is underway.
Ethereum (ETH) is also pressing into important resistance around its January high. On the four-hour chart, Ethereum is trying to close candles above that range. If it can do that, I would expect price to push higher and then potentially come back to retest the breakout area before making a stronger move. If Bitcoin does turn this into a broader altcoin rally, Ethereum is one of the coins I would expect to lead.
BNB (BNB) currently looks stronger than Bitcoin in terms of market structure because it has already created a higher high. It is also forming a clean bull flag inside a parallel channel. If that structure continues to hold, a retest of the top of that channel remains a reasonable area to watch.
Cardano (ADA) has also strengthened, but it is coming directly into resistance. A descending trend line from August 2025 and September 2025 is meeting a horizontal pivot from March 2026. Cardano moved above that area last month, then reversed sharply into a nine-day decline. That downtrend may now be losing momentum, but I would still respect the resistance before assuming the move continues.
Cardano also showed why crowded shorts can become dangerous. When too many traders are positioned short, and price moves higher, those shorts can be forced to close. Closing a short creates buying pressure, which can push price higher and trigger the next group of shorts. That is how a short squeeze can accelerate quickly.
Solana (SOL) has already gained almost 50% over roughly 10 days. After a move that large, some cooling off is reasonable. Solana does not look as strong as BNB right now, so I would be more interested in how it consolidates than in chasing the move after a nearly 50% rally.
There is also a lot of activity developing on the Robinhood Chain. Uniswap (UNI) is handling a large portion of the swap activity there, with $9 million in revenue reported over the previous 24 hours from Robinhood Chain activity alone. Technically, Uniswap is approaching resistance around 656, where several prior technical levels are coming together.
Another Robinhood Chain token moved from an entry around 37 cents to roughly a 50% gain in about 24 hours and briefly reached as high as 57%. That is exactly the type of move where I would rather think about protecting profits than adding leverage.
Morpho (MORPHO) is forming a wedge near the bottom of its channel and appears to be approaching a decision point within roughly five days. Direction has not been established yet, so this is another situation where patience makes more sense than trying to predict the move early.
XRP (XRP) is participating in the rally as well, but I still want to see it clear the wick high and pivot high from August 27. If XRP can get through that area, the setup improves, but another prior wick high remains stronger resistance above it. If you entered XRP from lower levels and did not take profit into the earlier move, this is the type of area where protecting some of those gains makes sense.
So right now, Bitcoin is still setting the tone. Ethereum is testing a breakout, BNB is showing stronger structure, Cardano and XRP are running into resistance, and Solana is digesting an almost 50% move. The opportunities are there, but this is not the time to abandon price discipline. Let the market confirm the breakout, respect resistance, and do not turn a strong rally into a bad entry by chasing it too late.
